| Neoprene |
Neoprene Sponge Rubbers.
Sponge Rubbers are the foremost materials that are used for seals and gaskets for preventing leeks of gasses or fluids at low compression forces.
Properties Include:-
Softness
Elasticity
Very low compression set
Sealing
Sound and thermal insulation
Shock absorbents
Anti – vibration
Fire – resistant
Electrically conductive
Neoprene is the term given to Polychloroprene.
In the foamed format, it has an excellent characteristic for creating a seal or gasket upon the application of a small amount of compression. Uses include: Oil Seals Weatherstripping Vent and Air Conditioning Seals.
Good Heat Resistance -20 to +100◦c
Moderate chemical and oil resistance
Good sea water, acids/alkalis, fats and grease, oil/fuel resistance
Good Ozone and UV resistance
Excellent Fire Retardant capabilities. FMVSS302, UL94 HF1, V0
The foams can be supplied with or without self adhesive backing and can be cut into coils for sealing tapes. |
